Acceptance of Terms

By accessing "FFRF-FORUM" (hereinafter "we," "us," "our," "FFRF-FORUM," "http://ffrf-forum.org/phpbb"), you agree to be legally bound by the following terms. If you do not agree to be legally bound by all of the following terms then please do not access and/or use "FFRF-FORUM."

Modifications to this Agreement

We reserve the right to change, modify, amend or otherwise alter these terms and conditions at any time. While we'll do our utmost in informing you of any changes, it would be prudent to review these terms regularly as your continued use of "FFRF-Forum" after the posting of amended terms shall constitute your agreement to be bound by any such changes.


You are required to click "I Accept" and register if you wish to post on this forum or view other users' content. By registering you accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your Registration Account. You agree to provide true, accurate, complete and correct information at the time of registration. You agree to promptly update account information so it remains true, accurate, complete, and correct. We reserve the right to terminate access and use of FFRF-Forum at any time.

If you wish to discontinue your status as a registered user, you may delete your user ID and password by emailing us at webmaster@ffrf.org


Our forums are powered by phpBB (hereinafter "they," "them," "their," "phpBB software," "www.phpbb.com," "phpBB Group," "phpBB Teams") which is a bulletin board solution released under the "General Public License" (hereinafter "GPL") and can be downloaded from www.phpbb.com. The phpBB software only facilitates internet based discussions. The phpBB Group is not responsible for what we allow and/or disallow as permissible content and/or conduct. As a user you agree to any information you have entered to being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, neither "FFRF-FORUM" nor phpBB shall be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

You acknowledge that FFRF-Forum does not pre-screen or approve your postings within the content of this forum. We reserve the right to move, remove, block, edit, refuse or close any content that violates the terms of this agreement or is otherwise objectionable. If you feel that a posted message or content is objectionable, you are encouraged to "flag" the posting and/or call the FFRF office at (608) 256-8900 to report it. We have the ability to remove these flagged or objectionable messages and we will make every effort to do so within a reasonable time frame if we deem removal necessary. We admins, being human, make mistakes, so if you feel an admin erroneously removed your posting, whether flagged or not, please contact the admins explaining why and we may reconsider our decision.

You agree not to post any material which is knowingly false, libelous and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, obscene, vulgar, profane, slanderous, hateful, threatening, harassing, sexually-oriented, invasive of a person's privacy or any other material that may violate any laws be it of your country, the country where "FFRF-FORUM" is hosted or International Law.

You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by this forum, you, or you have received express permission from the owner.

You agree to limit use of this forum to discuss our broad purposes--keeping state and church separate and promoting freethought. By using this forum, you understand and agree that you cannot post materials that expressly advocate for a particular candidate for local, state and/or federal office or post any other material that consists of political advocacy or electioneering. FFRF-Forum is not intended to be a forum for buying, selling or otherwise marketing commercial products by anyone. By using this forum, you understand and agree that you cannot post materials for purely commercial purposes.

All content and /or posted material is the sole responsibility of the person who provided it. Please use your best judgment and common sense when using FFRF-Forum. You understand that divulging personal phone numbers, home addresses or any other information on the site that could readily identify you or locate you. You understand and agree that in posting or disclosing any personal information on FFRF-Forum or to third parties in any communication, you do so fully acknowledging that the information could be used to identify you. Your dealings or communications through FFRF-Forum with any other party other than the administrators are solely between you and that third party. Under no circumstances will we be liable for any communications or dealing between you and third parties or for any harm related thereto.

Violation of Terms of Use

Any violation of the terms of this agreement may lead to your being immediately and permanently banned from this forum, with notification to your Internet Service Provider or law enforcement, if deemed required by us. The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions.

FFRF-FORUM - Privacy Policy


FFRF-Forum has created this privacy policy to explain how your information is protected, collected, and used. This policy explains in detail how "FFRF-FORUM" along with its affiliated companies (hereinafter "we," "us," "our," "FFRF-FORUM," "http://ffrf-forum.org/phpbb") and phpBB (hereinafter "they," "them," "their," "phpBB software," "www.phpbb.com," "phpBB Group," "phpBB Teams") use any information collected during any session of usage by you (hereinafter "your information"). This policy only covers information collected by FFRF-Forum. Other users may provide links to third party websites, which may have different privacy practices. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy policies of those websites. Therefore, it would be prudent to read the privacy policies of any and all third party websites you may visit.

Notice of Information We Collect and How We Collect It

Personal information is collected by FFRF-Forum through phpBB. This information is collected only for registration and authentication purposes. By registering an account of FFRF-Forum, you consent to the collection and use of the information in accordance with this privacy statement. If you do not consent to the collection of your personal information as outlined in the policy, please do not register or use the forum.

Your information is collected two ways. Firstly, browsing "FFRF-FORUM" will cause the phpBB software to create a number of cookies, which are small text files that are downloaded on to your computer's web browser temporary files. The first two cookies just contain a user identifier (hereinafter "user-id") and an anonymous session identifier (hereinafter "session-id"), automatically assigned to you by the phpBB software. A third cookie will be created once you have browsed topics within "FFRF-FORUM" and is used to store which topics have been read, thereby improving your user experience.

We may also create cookies external to the phpBB software while browsing "FFRF-FORUM," though these are outside the scope of this document which is intended to only cover the pages created by the phpBB software.

The second way in which we collect your information is by what you submit to us. This can be, and is not limited to: posting as an anonymous user (hereinafter "anonymous posts"), registering on "FFRF-FORUM" (hereinafter "your account") and posts submitted by you after registration and while logged in (hereinafter "your posts.")

Your Account and Password

Your account will at a bare minimum contain a uniquely identifiable name (hereinafter "your user name"), a personal password used for logging into your account (hereinafter "your password") and a personal, valid e-mail address (hereinafter "your e-mail"). Your information for your account at "FFRF-FORUM" is protected by data-protection laws applicable in the country that hosts us. At our discretion, we will determine what other information beyond your user name, your password and your e-mail required by "FFRF-FORUM" during the registration process is mandatory and what is optional. In all cases, you have the option of what information in your account is publicly displayed. Furthermore, within your account, you have the option to opt-in or opt-out of automatically generated e-mails from the phpBB software. Your password is ciphered (a one-way hash) so that it is secure. However, it is recommended that you do not reuse the same password across a number of different websites. Your password is the means of accessing your account at "FFRF-FORUM," so please guard it carefully and under no circumstance will anyone affiliated with "FFRF-FORUM," phpBB or another 3rd party, legitimately ask you for your password. Should you forget your password for your account, you can use the "I forgot my password" feature provided by the phpBB software. This process will ask you to submit your user name and your e-mail, and then the phpBB software will generate a new password to reclaim your account.

Conditions Under Which We Share Information

Your personally identifiable information will be made accessible to duly authorized FFRF-Forum administrators and/or our other personnel or employees of our affiliated companies, who carry out the internal operations in relation to the administration of this site.

The purposes of this forum generally do not lend themselves to circumstances that would require disclosure of your personally identifiable information to third parties. For example, this site does not allow advertising, such as banner ads or pop-ups. Generally, this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent. However, under certain circumstances, we may deem it necessary to disclose your information. Certain conditions may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Disclosure required by law
  • To comply with a judicial proceeding, such as a court order, search warrant or subpoena
  • To enforce our Terms of Use
  • In any other circumstances we deem, at our discretion, to pose a threat to you or to the safety of others


FFRF-Forum is directed toward and designed for use by persons aged 13 or older. We do not solicit or knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If we discover that we have received personal information from an individual who indicates he/she is under the age of 13, or whom we otherwise have reason to believe is, under the age 13, we will delete such information from the system. Additionally, a child's parent or legal guardian may request that the child's information be corrected or deleted from our files.


We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially accepted means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

As a user you agree to any information you have entered to being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, neither "FFRF-FORUM" nor phpBB shall be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will do our best to post changes to this privacy policy so that you are aware of the information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If we make any changes that materially affect our uses or disclosures of personally identifiable information that we have previously collected, we will notify you here, by email, or by means of a notice on FFRF-Forum home page.
